Planting For Pollinators

Planting For Pollinators In-Person

Come to Adell Durbin Park and learn briefly about the history of the park then delve into late summer and fall planting options for attracting and aiding migratory species and late-season pollinators with naturalist Judy Semroc. It is especially important for our insect species to get enough food in order to make it through the winter, so what we plant and cultivate can help them reach this goal. Natural history and plant attributes will be presented. Goldenrods, Asters, and other late summer/fall species will be featured, as well as helpful identification information.  Weather permitting, we will take a short hike uphill to the wildflower prairie to see some of the plant and animal species firsthand. Families are welcome.

Registration for this free program is required. To register, visit the Stow-Munroe Falls Public Library’s website at events.smfpl.org or call the Children’s Department at (330) 688-3295 ext. 5.
