While we enjoy showing you films that dazzle and uplift you, some movies "matter" because they confront you with uncomfortable questions that merit contemplation. This year's CIVIL WAR war is one such movie. The film follows a team of scrappy journalists attempting to navigate the United States amid a violent conflict between an authoritarian federal government and several secessionist factions. "Tough and unsettling by design," writes review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, "CIVIL WAR is a gripping close-up look at the violent uncertainty of life in a nation in crisis." Simply put, our club will have a lot to discuss.
