This week's selection is Billy Wilder's classic, THE APARTMENT. Winner of the 1960 Academy Award for "Best Picture," the romantic comedy-drama follows an insurance clerk (Jack Lemmon) who, hoping to climb the corporate ladder, allows more senior coworkers to use his Upper West Side apartment to conduct their extramarital affairs. When his manager (Fred MacMurray) begins using his apartment in exchange for a promotion, Baxter is disappointed to learn his boss's mistress is the elevator girl (Shirley MacLaine) he's been flirting with. Soon, he must choose between his career ambitions and the woman he loves.
