Birding Basics and Citizen Science In-Person

Join us during the 2025 Great Backyard Bird Count (February 14-17, 2025) to learn birding basics from citizen scientist Kathy Mock at the Leona Farris Lodge at Silver Springs Park. Kathy will share some of her incredible experiences with birding, provide instructions on how to use binoculars well, and demonstrate the Merlin Bird ID app. Participants are encouraged to download the Merlin app from the Cornell Lab of Ornithology before coming to the program.  Registration is required and begins on January 1st at 9 AM. To register, call (330) 688-3295, ext. 5, visit events.smfpl.org, or stop by the library.

Connect with nature just outside your door. This winter, the City of Stow Parks and Recreation Department and Stow-Munroe Falls Public Library have partnered to present outdoor programs for area residents.
