Ohio Frogs and FrogWatch

Ohio Frogs and FrogWatch In-Person

Come to Leona Farris Lodge at Silver Springs Park to learn about the wonders of Ohio’s frogs and their different calls from Carrie Bassett of FrogWatch USA based out of our own Akron Zoo!  FrogWatch USA is a citizen science program established to provide individuals, groups, and families with opportunities to learn about wetlands in their communities by reporting on the calls of local frogs and toads during various weather conditions. FrogWatch USA teaches and encourages volunteers to collect and contribute information about the breeding calls of frogs and toads to a national dataset that is publicly available online. After the presentation we will head out to the marsh to listen for frog calls to test our identification skills. Registration is required and begins on February 1. To register, call (330) 688-3295, ext. 5, visit events.smfpl.org, or stop by the library.

Connect with nature just outside your door. This winter, the City of Stow Parks and Recreation Department and Stow-Munroe Falls Public Library have partnered to present outdoor programs for area residents.
