What makes a film epic? It isn’t just size or spectacle. It’s what happens when ordinary people come up against forces larger than themselves: time, history, society, fate. These stories can unfold anywhere—from distant galaxies to familiar streets—and over moments or lifetimes. What matters isn’t scale but endurance, how long someone can hold on, what pressure reveals, and what’s left when the dust finally settles. This "Epic April," we’ll be exploring a little of all of the above.
Interstellar is Christopher Nolan’s ambitious and emotionally charged science-fiction epic. Set in a near future where Earth is becoming increasingly uninhabitable, the film stars Matthew McConaughey as a former pilot sent on a desperate mission to find a new home for humanity. What begins as a space adventure gradually becomes something more intimate, a story about time, sacrifice, and the bonds between parents and children stretched across unimaginable distances. Big, bold, and surprisingly tender, Interstellar asks cosmic questions while keeping its heart firmly grounded in human emotion.
