Sharing is caring, unless it's a library account. Don't share the limit, share the love! Everyone in your household, of any age, can have their own card.

Why get a library card for everyone in your household?

• More borrows, less rationing: Library eBook and streaming apps have monthly download limits, and physical items have checkout limits, too. With separate cards, everyone can enjoy their own full allotment of books, games, DVDs, and more.
• No need to "share the card": Everyone can check out what they want, when they want, without worrying about reaching limits. (We do ask that you borrow only what you can keep track of!)

Why kids especially benefit from their own card:

• Independence on the go: Kids can borrow items even when visiting the library with a grandparent, sitter, or other caregiver.
• Confidence & social skills: Checking out books themselves lets kids interact with library staff and feel part of the community.
• A badge of pride: A library card is something children and adults can both own—giving kids a sense of responsibility and belonging.

The library is fine free

Stow-Munroe Falls Public Library eliminated fines for late returns on most SMFPL items in January 2022. You can borrow books, DVDs, and more without worry, because late fees are gone. Items only incur replacement costs if they’re overdue by 30+ days.

If you have outstanding fines accrued on your Stow-Munroe Falls Public Library card account, stop in and we will help you clear them. If you have charges for lost material, please speak with us and we will work with you.
