Wednesday Movie Club: BEASTS OF THE SOUTHERN WILD In-Person

It's impossible to talk about great performances without mentioning Quvenzhané Wallis in BEASTS OF THE SOUTHERN WILD. The then six-year-old's film debut earned her an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress, making her the youngest person ever to be nominated for the award. The movie, which also earned Oscar nominations for Best Picture, Best Director and Best Screenplay, follows a young girl named Hushpuppy who must face down a race of strange beasts after her father becomes ill and a major storm washes away not only her home, but the community where she lives.
