Wednesday Movie Club: THE BISHOP'S WIFE In-Person

This film is being presented as part of the Stow-Munroe Falls Public Library's Wednesday Movie Club, a weekly showcase of movies that matter for people who love movies.  Attendees will be invited to discuss the film immediately following the screening. Registration is not required.

We're kicking off December with a gem from Hollywood’s Golden Age. THE BISHOP'S WIFE stars the ever-debonair Cary Grant as an angel sent to help a struggling bishop (David Niven) and his neglected wife (Loretta Young).  Directed by Henry Koster, this 1947 classic blends gentle humor, romance, and holiday spirit into a story that is both heartfelt and slyly sophisticated.  Nominated for five Academy Awards, including Best Picture, it remains one of the most elegant entries in the cinematic Christmas canon.  If you haven't seen this one, we promise, seeing Cary Grant play an angel (who may or may not be a little too charming for his own good) is more than worth an afternoon trip to the library.
