Wednesday Movie Club: WEST SIDE STORY

Wednesday Movie Club: WEST SIDE STORY In-Person

This film is being presented as part of the Stow-Munroe Falls Public Library's Wednesday Movie Club, a weekly showcase of movies that matter for people who love movies.  Attendees will be invited to discuss the film immediately following the screening. Registration is not required.

Our celebration of movie musicals continues this week with the beloved musical classic, WEST SIDE STORY.  This 1961 production of the stage musical -- which brought Romeo and Juliet to the vibrant streets of New York City -- won 10 Academy Awards, including "Best Picture" and is widely-regarded as one of the best movie musicals of all time.  With unforgettable music by Leonard Bernstein and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, this timeless story of love and rivalry poignantly illustrates the power of good cinema.
